Bwindi impenetrable National Park is located in southern western Uganda and it is a home to mountain gorillas. It is of our pleasure the forest houses half of the number of mountain gorillas’ in the 3 countries Uganda, Rwanda and Congo, from 340-400 species from research that was conducted by the international conservation gorilla programme and other international organizations that are advocating for gorilla conservation in Africa. The forest is the most Uganda visited destination gorilla trekking. The major activity at the park is Gorilla tracking, and others like community walk, birding, nature walks. 

Day 1: Kampala – Bwindi. This morning after your breakfast, your guide from Tailor Safaris will pick you from your Hotel and transfer you to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest A very early rise today and together with your guide you will transfer by private vehicle south-West to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will stop over at the Uganda Equator for some photo shoots and a visit to the Craft Village. You will then head towards the western Uganda district and town of Mbarara town where you will take your lunch. Your driver will then take you through Uganda’s rolling green hills through the highlands, also known as the ‘Switzerland of Uganda’. Your road will then head even higher to where you can see the triangular peaks of the Virunga volcanoes of Rwanda and the Congo. We then drop down into a valley, to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home of the mountain gorilla. Tonight you will sleep to the sounds of the mountain rainforest. Dinner and Overnight at Buhoma Community Bandas. Meal plan: H/B  Day 2: Bwindi GorillasTrekking. Wake up relatively early for a hearty breakfast to give you the energy needed for gorilla tracking. after proceed to the park headquarters for briefing about the do’s and don’ts . There porters if you would need one, books videos and lots of information that you will get here. After enter into the jungle to search for the gentle shy mountain gorillas, the experience is either whole/half day the rangers will then take you through the bush, pushing your way through the undergrowth, parting thick creepers, to track the gorillas. A reasonable degree of fitness is required as well as a sturdy pair of walking shoes). Sit in the forest among the gorillas, listening to them grumble to each other, and marvel at the sheer size of the dominant male; the silverback. It is an extraordinary feeling sitting in the dense rainforest knowing you are with a few of the last remaining mountain gorillas. It’s amazing to think there are only about 800 of these beautiful creatures left! Later today, if you don’t think it is too much walking for one day, you could take a community walk. You will visit the Pygmy community, local medicine man, banana beer brewers, primary school, orphanage home, and the local communities. Dinner and Overnight at Buhoma Community Bandas. Meal plan: H/B  Day 3: Bwindi and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi. Early this today you will take a guided walk on the Munyaga River and Waterfalls trails. This trail leads to three delightful crystal clear waterfalls, and there is a profusion of tree ferns, epithytic ferns, orchids and Bwindi’s colorful array of butterflies. Here you may also see birds and primates from the forest edge. You will be back at the lodge for breakfast and thereafter transfer to Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale – Uganda. Dotted with at least 20 small islands an encircled by steep terraced hills, Bunyonyi is a magical spot that has been renamed the “Switzerland of Africa”. Its high altitude and moderate temperatures as well as its beautiful scenery have qualified the island to be among the most popular destinations in Western Uganda. As its name ‘Bunyonyi’ suggests in the local language the lake is a haven for bird watchers. The lake has got distinct bird species which include grey crowned cranes, a variety of Herons and egrets, among others. It is also probably the best place in Africa to see otters-the diurnal spotted-necked otter. Dinner and Overnight Birds Nest / Lake Bunyonyi over Land camp  Day 4: Lake Bunyonyi and transfer to Kampala. An early nature walk around the environs of your lodge. This offers an excellent opportunity for bird viewing and appreciating the African sunrise and beauty of sceneries. Return to the lodge for breakfast. After breakfast take a boat ride on the lake to visit neighboring pygmy tribes with their unique culture. While on the boat, birding is one fascinating attraction and the view of the overland is breathtaking. After an early lunch you will set off for Kampala, driving through Mbarara and arriving in the late evening for your evening flight.
